how do you make an academic theory make sense?
To draw donors and modernize the org’s philosophy, the Washington Area Women’s Foundation (WAWF) declared its new commitment: approach justice for women from an intersectional perspective.
But for the Foundation’s primarily older, white donors, intersectionality was a new & abstract concept in need of grounding. In preparation for the Foundation’s annual fundraising luncheon, I wrote messaging that explained WAWF’s vision in human—not academic—terms.
